I always try to give my students some good test taking strategies before the first test of the semester.  Here are a few of mine.

1. Arrive early and well prepared - bring some water and two pencils with good erasers.

2. Do a "brain dump."  When you first receive your test, write down any important formulas or notes you have memorized.  This removes the fear that you will forget important rules and frees up brain space!

3. Do the easy questions first and circle the tough ones to come back to later.  This builds your confidence and helps you remember more basic strategies before you need the harder ones.
